The Macadam Specialist were appointed on this project, to turn an older defective playground, into a new safe play area.

Due to a change in levels and overlaying a majority of the existing surface, we were required to plane out area's which were to high or defective and regulate other areas of the playground. 

A new surface was installed throughout and the pictures below show the transformation of the playground.

Tarmac is a common choice for surfacing playgrounds and other recreational areas for several reasons:

5. Versatility: Tarmac surfaces can be customised to include various markings and designs, such as game courts, hopscotch grids, and more, to enhance the recreational value of the playground.
6. Quick Installation: Tarmacking a playground is typically a quicker process compared to some other surface options. This can help minimise the downtime of the playground during construction or renovation.
7. Cost-Effective: Tarmac is often a cost-effective surfacing option for playgrounds, offering a good balance between durability and cost.
8. Water Drainage: Tarmac can be designed to allow for proper water drainage, preventing puddles and water accumulation, which can be important for playground safety and usability, especially during or after rain. This can be by providing adequate falls or porous asphalt.
