The Macadam Specialist was appointed to assist the client on a new build housing estate in Liverpool.

The Scheme comprised of new build homes, to which surfacing was needed to paths, driveways and road. 

The works were carried out over three visits, applying the base layers firstly to give the clients good hardstanding areas, with the second visit for remaining driveways, and the last with a sweep and surfacing course completed to all areas. 

Tips for maintaining your Driveway -

 Regular maintenance is key to preserving the integrity and appearance of your tarmac driveway ;

• Remove leaves, debris, and loose dirt from the surface with a broom or leaf blower. Regular cleaning prevents organic matter from decomposing and staining the tarmac.
• For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent, water, and a stiff brush to scrub the affected areas. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the tarmac.
• Avoid parking heavy vehicles, such as trucks or large RVs, in the same spot for extended periods. Over time, the weight of heavy vehicles can cause depressions and damage the tarmac.  
• Be cautious when working on vehicles, as oil and chemical spills can damage the tarmac. Use drip trays or mats to catch spills and clean them up promptly.
• Avoid spilling petrol, diesel or other harsh chemicals on the driveway.
• When removing snow or ice, use a plastic or rubber snow shovel to avoid damaging the tarmac. Avoid using rock salt, as it can deteriorate the surface. Instead, use a tarmac-friendly de-icer.
